Use DVLA vehicle information to compare the make, colour, fuel type and registration details. Review the free MOT history for test outcomes, mileage readings and advisories. Check tax status separately.
Questions a fuller history may answer
Depending on the provider and its sources, a paid report may include recorded finance, theft or insurance write-off information. Check exactly which data is included and when it was last updated before paying. A missing record is not proof that an event never happened.
Compare the result with the car
- Match the registration, VIN and V5C details to the physical vehicle.
- Investigate gaps or changes in recorded mileage with service invoices.
- Ask about unresolved MOT advisories and inspect any repairs.
- Confirm that the seller has the right to sell the vehicle.
- Arrange an independent inspection if the condition or history is unclear.
