An “HPI check” is a common way people describe a paid vehicle history check. HPI is a brand, and the exact data and guarantees depend on the provider and product. Check the report’s coverage, date and terms before relying on it.
What should you look for?
Before buying, ask whether a report includes outstanding finance, insurance write-offs, stolen vehicle markers, mileage discrepancies and identification details. A result is a snapshot of the sources available to that provider, not a guarantee that a car is problem free.
