Why we are building this site
Buying a car can involve several separate sources and unfamiliar terms. Our guides explain what a result means, what it does not mean and where to check official records. We link directly to GOV.UK services for DVLA vehicle information, MOT history and vehicle tax.
Our approach to vehicle data
We aim to show the source and coverage of any report clearly. The Check My Vehicle search API is currently paused while the site is prepared. Until the service is ready, our guides point you to the official public checks and steps to take in person. We will not present an unavailable report as a completed check.
Make an informed decision
No database can inspect a car for you. Verify the registration and VIN, examine the V5C and service records, see the vehicle in person and seek an independent inspection when needed. Start with our used car buying guide or read the FAQs.
